South County's only family-owned full-service oil company.
Heating oil delivery, HVAC installation, system service, 24/7 emergency dispatch. Three generations of the Smith family, 15 trucks running daily from 491 Main Street in Wakefield, and over 3,000 active South County households on our books.
Four service categories. One South County company.
SmithCo is not a delivery-only oil company. We install heating equipment, service it through every winter, and dispatch emergency response any hour. Pick the category that matches what you need.

Explore Service Plans →Founded by Stephen. Run today by David and Kevin.
Stephen Smith founded SmithCo Oil Service in 1985 with one truck and a service area that ended at the next town over. Forty years later, his sons David and Kevin run the company together from the same Main Street address. The fleet is fifteen trucks now. The service area covers eleven South County towns. The family ownership has not changed.
That continuity is the differentiator. When you call our office, you talk to a SmithCo. When you need an emergency dispatch on a Sunday, the truck is driven by a SmithCo employee who lives down the road, not a contractor pulled in from out of state. When you ask why your delivery is two days late, you get a real answer from a real person whose name is on the building.

A real SmithCo dispatcher answers any hour, any day, any holiday. Same-night truck on no-heat emergencies. We know every street in every South County town we serve, and our techs are dispatched from Wakefield, not a regional call center two states away.

Nine South County customers on what SmithCo gets right
These are real customers in their own words, named, with specific stories. Not scripted star ratings. The kind of relationship SmithCo has built over forty years on Main Street.
I just had maintenance done, and I was extremely happy with the guys who came and serviced my units. I have oil furnaces and HW heaters, and I haven't been happy with service guys from other companies. I liked the SmithCo guys, and I really felt they did a good job. The prices are also reasonable and fair.
I was recommended by a friend to switch to SmithCo because my old company let me run out all the time. I have to say I no longer worry about my oil level. I know SmithCo will keep track and take care of my house.
I bought a house a few weeks ago, signed up with SmithCo, and couldn't be happier that I joined a family-owned, local business. They have been great and helpful.
I called for fuel and had a delivery in a few hours. The cost is so much less than my previous supplier, and the service person was very efficient.
Thank you very much for all your help during our recent flooding. Your prompt response was much appreciated. Knowing we can depend upon you, even from Florida, means a lot.
We believe that integrity, professionalism, and customer service are the hallmark of what SmithCo Oil represents. They have our wholehearted support.
This is GREAT service! Special thanks to SmithCo's Richard for keeping us warm and giving us peace of mind.
To have such a successful business, Mr. Smith knows that they must be competitive and fair. Choosing to do business with SmithCo is a good choice, one that patrons from the South County area can attest to.
I was only a tenant in a house that SmithCo serviced, but I have to say I never worried about running out of oil. If you are a landlord I would highly recommend switching to SmithCo and having your tenants serviced by them.
What forty years on Main Street actually means for you
A Real Person Answers
Office calls and 24/7 emergency calls both go to live SmithCo staff. No regional call center, no automated dispatch system, no message-taking service that promises to relay your problem.
Same Trucks. Same Drivers.
Our 15-truck fleet runs the same daily routes with the same drivers year after year. The man who delivered your oil last winter is probably the same man delivering it next winter.
Local Family, Not a Chain
SmithCo is owned and operated by the Smith family. Decisions get made at 491 Main Street, not at a regional office in another state. The accountability stays local.
Full-Service Under One Roof
Delivery, installation, repair, and emergency response all from the same company. One phone number for everything. One account. One company that knows your equipment because we installed it.
